FRIDAY NOTES for the Week of APRIL 26, 2015

Here's what's happening for the week of APRIL 26, 2015:

The Your Story question is:
Tell about a time when you misunderstood someone who was trying to tell you something. Was it funny? Tragic?

1. Tomorrow, Saturday the 25th, Movie Night presents God is not Dead. Bring a snack to share, bring a friend; scheduled from 6 - 9 pm.

2. Sunday, Pastor Wim will return to the pulpit, and there will be a Sermon Discussion afterward, starting at 12:20 during Coffee Time.

3. Tuesday, after Bible Study, we meet for Lunch Bunch at the Old Country Buffet in Lynnwood. You may ride with someone from the church at 11:30, or meet us there at 12:00 noon. Marilyn has some coupons, so I am going to try to remember to get mine from her on Sunday!

4. Don't forget to let Candy know if you plan to go with the group on June 2 for Take Your Pastor to the Ball Game. The deadline for giving the Association our "head count" (for the purpose of purchasing a block of seats) is approaching!

FRIDAY NOTES for the Week of APRIL 19, 2015

Here's what's happening for the week of APRIL 19, 2015:

The Your Story question is:
Tell about a time when you felt out of your depth in a conversation. Perhaps the discussion was about something you were not familiar with or don't talk about very often. How did you respond? How do you feel comfortable or confident again?

1. This Sunday we welcome our guest minister, Dave Ankcorn, who has planned an excellent message for us; prior to the service is Prayer Time at 10:30 on the stage in the Fellowship Hall. After the service is our first Potluck of 2015. This is a perfect time to whip up that favorite recipe that you only make once or twice a year - and it is a perfect time to bring along a friend!

2. Next Saturday (the 25th) is Movie Night and the feature is God is not Dead; the event starts at 6:00 pm, ends at 9:00 pm; bring a friend; bring a snack to share; prepare to have fun!

3. Pastor Wim will return to the pulpit on the 26th - please keep up your prayers for safe travel back from Kenya.

4. Looking further ahead, Take Your Pastor to the Ballgame is scheduled for early June - this is an Evergreen Association event, and Candy needs a "head count" as early as possible in order to reserve enough tickets. So, if you will be going, let Candy know - further information will be announced soon.

5. Looks like quite a few of us brought items for the Food Bank barrel - thanks for doing that - keep up the good work! NOW, please start your habit of plugging in a couple of dates for the year as host of Coffee Time. We all enjoy the fellowship, and most of us enjoy the snacks, and we all can pitch in, thereby lightening the load for everyone!

FRIDAY NOTES for the Week of APRIL 12, 2015

Here's what's happening for the week of APRIL 12, 2015:

1. Sunday we welcome to the pulpit Rev. Rick Barlow, who has visited with us several times and always has something interesting to tell us; prior to the worship service, Prayer Time is at 10:30, on the stage in the Fellowship Hall. The Your Story Question is: Are you sacred or secular?

2. Please bring some items for the Food Bank barrel. Imagine, if each of us were to bring 3 items each week, this would go a long way toward preventing hunger in our community!

3. Next Sunday, the 19th, Rev. Dave Ankcorn will be our guest pastor - always a treat! Following the worship service will be our April potluck - the first of 2015. This is always an excellent time for bringing a friend with you and sharing conversation with others in our church family!

4. If you have not yet done so, please visit our website (www.wedgwoodchurch.org) and select "Sermons" to hear any that you would like to re-hear, or missed - Ed is now archiving sermons, in addition to posting the most recent one, and you will enjoy listening to them!

1. Tomorrow, Saturday, is our annual Easter Egg Hunt - starting at 10:00 am. The flyers say 10-1, but we are aiming for 10-12 so the helpers can clear up - Candy is in charge.
