FRIDAY NOTES for the week of March 1, 2015

Here's what's happening for the week of March 1, 2015:

1. Tomorrow, Saturday, there will be a memorial service for Marty at 10:00 a.m. in our Sanctuary. Light refreshments will be served downstairs afterward. Bruce has purchased food, Marilyn will be setting it all out before the service, and I have volunteered to help clean up. We could use a few extra hands for that, and you can give Marilyn a call if you will be helping set up.

2. Sunday's service is Communion Sunday - time to bring non-perishables for the Food Bank barrel! This also will be the second meeting of the Lenten Small Groups, which are scheduled through the end of March.

3. I will be sending out the Wedgletter and Calendar in a little bit - it's chock-full of great info, as usual, and I encourage you to open it and read it. Maybe you will get some ideas of items you would like to contribute for future issues!

4. Here is a note from Charlette: Thanks to all of you who helped me during this quarter financially and spiritually. I am now coming down to my last quarter (Spring) and tuition payment is due March 9th. Please continue to remain faithful in what God is calling you to do for me. Thank you and God Bless you!

FRIDAY NOTES for the week of February 15, 2015

Here's what's happening for the week of February 15, 2015:

1. It's Valentine's Day tomorrow - and our annual Valentine's Banquet is tomorrow evening (2/14). We have a great meal planned, followed by great entertainment - starting with "Happy Hour" at 6:00 p.m. See you there! (This is not an AFC fundraiser, but a contributions box will be available at the banquet.)

2. The Worship Committee will meet on Sunday after the worship service, during coffee time, in the Fellowship Hall. The Your Story question is:

Tell about a time when the consequences of your mistake fell on someone else (a parent, an employer, a friend, a sibling, a fellow employee).

4. On Saturday, the 21st, Marty will be hosting an open-house style gathering she is calling "Thanks to You". You may drop in between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm - in our Fellowship Hall.

5. Then, after church on the 22nd (next Sunday) Rod and Sandy will host a Birthday Party for Gregg. The invitation is attached, and you may RSVP to me by replying to this email, if you wish, so I can let Rod know how much pizza to order.

Full Service Recording: FEBRUARY 8, 2015

The following is a summary of the service that took place at Wedgwood Community Church in Seattle, Washington on February 8, 2015. Because the service was so unique this week (Pastor Wim is on vacation), we went ahead and recorded the ENTIRE program - All the songs, the prayers, the amazing music from Lev, and the full message from Bruce are included. Both Milt and Wim did a wonderful job in place of Wim and we couldn't be happier with how the recording went! Coming in at 49 Minutes total, this is very much worth listening to either for the first time or for a second go around!

FRIDAY NOTES for the week of February 8, 2015

Here's what's happening for the week of February 8, 2015:

1. This Sunday we will be treated to a different style of worship service hosted by Bruce, and aided by Milton. Lots of singing of some old favorite hymns, etc. and an excellent message. The guys have styled this service along the lines of the biweekly services at St. Anne's. You will want to be there!

2. After the service, during coffee time, there will be a brief meeting of the Valentine's Banquet committee. We need to "take a pulse" to make sure that all plans/preparations are on schedule.

3. Tickets for the banquet will be available after the service - see Linea - and we need a firm "head count" by Wednesday.

4. Bible Study will resume on Tuesday - Bruce leading.

5. On Friday the 13th we will be decorating for the Banquet. Those who have volunteered to do the decorating will begin gathering around 5 pm.

6. I mentioned last week that you may want to go to our website www.wedgwoodchurch.org and see what's new - particularly listen to the sermon from last Sunday. Actually, Ed was unable to be in the booth to babysit the recording equipment - and Rick Barlow's message is not there - but you need to listen and see how Ed stepped up to the plate and hit a home run!!!!!!!!! Very creative; very professional. Also, he has posted the February Wedgletter and will post the new one each month.

7. There are sign-up sheets on clipboards for the Lenten/Easter small groups - if you are interested in being a part of this, track down one of the sheets so they will be ready when Pastor Wim returns next week.

See you on Sunday!
